If you have spent much time in the aquarium hobby, you have no doubt heard of Eric Bodrock and Regina Spotti. In the photo above, that’s Regina on the left with Eric on the right and Stephan Tanner of Swiss Tropicals in the middle.
All Oddball Aquatics is the on-line company owned & operated by Eric, and is located in western Pennsylvania, just a bit south of Pittsburgh.
Well, as luck would have it, I was fortunate enough to visit All Oddball Aquatics on the way to the All-Aquarium Catfish Convention.
Eric and Regina have so many beautiful fish, it’s hard not to become overwhelmed when going through the fish rooms. That’s right, I said rooms!
The fish on display are nothing short of fantastic, but it gets better! Eric & Regina also have an entire room dedicated to vintage hobby related items!
Just inside the door I saw various food containers. My eye went instantly to the yellow and brown Tetra Min container. As an 8 year old fish keeper, this was a staple in my fish room.
Next I noticed boxes of Dynaflo filters. WOW! I can remember when I installed my first Dynaflo on my largest tank at the time, a 30 gallon. Compared to the air-driven filters of the day, this baby moved water like nobody’s business.
On another wall were vintage air pumps of all shapes and sizes, and scattered throughout the room were vintage tanks. Some which brought back fond memories, and others that were way before my time.
Honestly, there was so much to see during my visit with Eric & Regina, I experienced the elation of feeling like the proverbial kid in a candy store. I could have spent hours, if not days, taking it all in, but alas bright and early the next morning our journey to the All-Aquarium Catfish Convention continued.
Oh yea, I was even lucky enough to be invited to sign the door!
Thanks Eric & Regina for a wonderful time!
